Guan Yu

Guan Yu is a corsair who leads the Mong Bal rebels and older brother of Sun Wukong. Growing up, their father raised the two boys and taught them how to fight. He revealed that both boys possessed an ancient lineage that allowed them to harness the power of resonance. After teaching him these ancient techniques, their father blocked their memories until they were ready to use these powerful abilities.
From an early age, Guan Yu had difficulty adjusting to the strictures of Mong Bal city life and found himself at odds with the ruling class. He was exiled from the city of Erryl after the death of his father, saying goodbye to his mother and younger brother.
He made his way to Lion City and joined the Corsairs. Initially, he captained the Yànhui, with his friend and fellow Corsair Fang Jiang as lookout. They also recruited a strange creature named NoOne into their crew, but their adventures were short lived as they were attacked on Sera resulting in Fang Jiang's death and that of most of Guan Yu's crew members.
When Mong Bal left the Chimera Alliance after Nasser Graham's disappearence, Jin Bei recruited Guan Yu to join him and Prince Lucas to try to bring them back. They also teamed up with Prince Lucas's friends, the Kestrel Brothers, and a Kitsune Huli Jing named Kylia. During their journeys, Guan Yu studied under a mysterious figure named Master Blowfish where he unlocked the secrets of his resonance abilities.
Guan Yu's mission on Mong Bal again ended in tragedy. Though his old crew are often reluctant to talk about exactly what happened, the fallout resulted in Prince Lucas turning on Jin Bei and forming the White Lion Armada.
After two failures working with foreign allies, Guan Yu decided to redouble his efforts on the homefront to assist the Mong Bal rebellion. In order to boost his profile, he joined The Circus fighting for the Io Oneironautics Club, promoted by the Circus's very own founder, Ravi. With his prolific fighting abilities, Guan Yu managed to reach the final round earning him the fame needed to attract allies to the rebel cause.
With his newfound prestige, Guan Yu became the face of the Mong Bal Rebellion. He worked with another Corsair named Itthis to infiltrate Mong Bal's largest criminal organization, the Hanuman Brotherhood. During their investigation, Guan Yu learned that his own brother had joined the Corsairs and was being pursued by the White Lion Armada. He asked his buddy Itthis to return to Lion City and watch over Wukong, while Guan Yu continued efforts on the home front until they met again.
