Romulus

Romulus is a Koan Professor working for the Firefly Society. He is an expert in Ifrit soceity and a stickler for historical accuracy. He often criticizes and verbally berates Corsairs who plunder the ruins of ancient cultures for no other reason than to make themselves more powerful. Nevertheless, he sees them as a necessary evil to acquire artifacts that help him gain insight into the ancient cultures he studies.
He busies himself restoring ancient Ifrit artifacts--a process that goes slower than the production of most artrifices due to his insistence on using only components accurate to the era he is studying. His largest project is a full biplane that he hopes to restore to airborn status using only ancient and historically- accurate components.
Since they joined the Firefly Society, Romulus has had several dealings with the Party. He gave Royce the location of a capsized dreadnaught so the party could harvest its wood to upgrade the Nomad, and in exchange asked them to bring back any Ifrit artifacts the Dreadnaught was carrying. The Party recovered the Panzer Garuda mech from the wreckage and have been...somewhat slow repaying him for his intelligence.
While the Party was investigating the origin of Helix's Illithid Gauntlets, they discovered one had come into the possession of an Ifrit general named Prestor John who led a faction called the Heresy of the Void. Romulus agreed to assist in their investigation by leading an excavation of their headquarters, a cathedral buried in a sinkhole on Sera.
