Lost City of Kadar
Demographics
The city of Kadar is suffused with high levels of ambient necromantic energy, centred on the Palace District of the Upper City. As a result, several thousand undead inhabit the Upper City. Meanwhile, the Lower City is overrun by an unknown number of fae and fey creatures. Any divination spells or other sources of information will tell you that there are no other living creatures within the walls, with the exception of those who have entered since the city's return.
Defences
Every gate to the city is guarded by a pair of constructs, who will bar entry to anyone who does not speak the password. Each gate has a different password, all of which are in Araith as it was spoken in the Kadarin Empire, and are engraved into the stonework above their respective gates. If you know the command words, you can shut the constructs down or change the password they will accept.
History
Imperial historians took the foundation of the city as the year 0 of the IR (Imperial Reckoning) dating system.
Geography
The Cordatus River enters the city from the south and bends around to the east. It is met in the middle by a canal entering from the west, with a pool created at the meeting point. Above this to the north, the Upper City rises on a ridge.
