The Ecclesiarchy

In the wake of Lunarym's destruction, the survivors of this land sought a light in the all-consuming dark. In a land of death, trapped in the fading dusk of a fallen empire, those who did not succumb to the dusk needed faith in a new dawn. The ecclesiarchy filled this void, it's radiant flame blazing a path for all those lost in the eternal night. It is the most prominent church and religion in Lunarym, taking on the righteous teachings of the fallen empire and applying them to a cruel and unjust world of blood. The church is an iron fist, a guiding light, and a higher power to be worshipped, all of which culminate in a religious institute and army that enforces the faith and laws of their ideal world.   It's highest clerics and vicars consist of devout and unwavering fanatics, its common soldiers and enforcers are those who stare malignancy and affliction in the eye unwavered, and its lowest fodder are sinners, criminals, and brigands forced to redemption. Their ranks are indoctrinated to walk a path of salvation and purpose in the bleak, blood-soaked Lunarym. Marching brazenly into the dark, they purge monsters, undead, and any manner of threats to blossoming life. Yet one who stands besides them must be ready, for when rumors of heresy and hidden cults emerge, the eyes of the church soon follow. Those in the ranks of the ecclesiarchy are wholly overtaken by unquestionable faith and zealotry, a need to purge the corruption in Lunarym with blazing fire and piety. In their midst, these devout often leave a trail of dead, guilty and innocent alike.   Through worship of the Eternal Flame, their people will find salvation. Their people will find light in the dark. Their people will find purpose in the blood.

Organization

Part devout church and part fanatical military, the ecclesiarchy is led at it's head by two different branches: the Order of Flame and the Order of Iron. The former worships the eternal flame and is in charge of their devout preaching and gospel they spread across the land, primarily composed of clerics, vicars, and priors. The later is their eternal crusading force, warbands of iron and steel that fight back against the darkness in the land and comprised of both honorable warriors and lowly criminals forcibly enlisted. Each one is also led by their own head of the order, those being High Vicar Priscilla and High Lord Azriel respectively.
