A gnome from the eastern mountains beyond the borders of Apophia. Struggling to survive he found himself thieving just to survive with his ability to turn invisible at will. Eventually he was captured and thrown into a cell alongside Darius Quickhand in The Rell Alliance, but Darius had a plan to escape. Darius took the rough looking gnome with him and Rat has stuck beside him ever since. He's never told anyone his real name or why a small gnome is so far from home or where he really came from, but Darius accepts the creature anyway dismissing those that would speak ill of his newfound friend.
After Ellie and Auska saving him on two separate occasions during the infiltration of the Twisting Palace Rat showed his appreciation with gifts and friendship. Unfortunately for Ellie the truth about the Pink Toad incident in the sewers below the palace slipped his mouth during a conversation with Jericho causing the man to become angry at Ellie, regardless now he continues his journey through life as Darius' Trusted ally and friend.
