Candela Obscura Investigative Cautions and Procedures - Bleed Containment
Small leaks in the Flare, absorbed by humans, animals, creatures or objects are stored in a bleed containment vial. The vials are made of diamond glass. A toxin is used to eliminate the creatures and contagions that dwell behind the veil. Once the Circle examines a vial and its sediment, the capsule is stored in extreme cold. If any creatures or contagions escape from the vial, investigators prepare a speculative report about who benefits by this escape.
It is a must for investigators to keep at the ready. During the secret society initiation celebration the Vial is issued routinely. If the vial is corrupted for any reason or lost, it should be reported. Additional investigator vial are available free of charge at the Spouter Bolt-Hole - Profession Issues.
- The vial resists corrosion.
- Once the vial is used, it is never discarded. Instead, it is sent to the Lighthouse vault.
- Openings in the vial are small. It is not expected that any contagions or creatures are thoroughly eliminated. Like ear mites, the offspring of creatures and contagions, usually eggs, are protected by an unknown membrane. Only when the egg hatches does the toxin kill the bleed.
- Research continues at three locations in Crooked Mile. The locations are Drumkeeploch Manor House Manor House, a private and closely held secret owned by Circle founder, Circle Founder, Jason Garamund Garamund, the Free Quincey's Clinic Clinic, and the Crooked Mile Chapter House Mile Circle Chapter House. Not only is it a controversial study, it is not research that everyone should be involved with pursuing.
- A safety latch keeps the vial from accidentally being opened or spilled.
- The device is classified. Only the Crooked Mile Circle is aware of its existence.
- In extreme circumstances, a release of the bleed while being examined would cause an evacuation.
