Kydrus

Master of the Skies

Thunder, lightning, and the storms are his to command, and he is costly tied to the seasons. He is Kydrus, the Thunderbird, the embodiment of the storms and weather. In days of yore storm and weather, especially the bad was contributed to a malevolent birdlike creature of lighting. Over the years this being materialized in Kydrus, heralded by massive storm clouds and lighting, the sighting of the thunderbird is a bad omen.   Kydrus embodies the weather and those that worship him do so mostly to appease him, either to get favorable weather for their crops or travel or ensure the stormy wrath doesn't fall upon them. Furthermore, this god of thunder is extremely fickle and vain, taking any slights upon him magnificent power extremely personal, provided word hereof reaches him and smiting down those that opposed him with lighting, storm, and bad weather.   It is commonly believed that the five Cinques are the result of Kydrus' personality cycling through an array of different moods, each different, but all passing new challenges to the lands below.

The faith: Kydrus' Stormcallers

Silimair to the faith of Rhamiel, the shrines to Kydrus serve mainly as places where the common man can pay their respects and the priest try their best to appease their patron. These buildings, large tower-like buildings with a flat top allow the devotees to be closer to their god, often standing weathering severe storms on the top hereof.   These devotees also spend their days making the round, instilling a sensible fear in the hearts of the common-folk, ensuring they and their patron gain the respect their due. And those that speak ill of their master receive the punishment they're due.  

Shrines to Kydrus

These large towers made from blueish stone serves two major purposes, first of, the devotees find a place where they can rest and be closer to their god, and the tall structure serves as a lightning rod, ensuring the direst area around the tower remains mostly untouched by the wrath of their god. Often forming the heart of settlements in areas where Kydrus' might is felt the most.  

Quests of the Faith

Those that seek to claim the divine power of Kydrus often time shall venture to a place where Kydrus hold absolute dominion, often times the summit of a mountain, here the devotee needs to endure for as long as Kydrus deems it necessary. They then are installed with divine power, after which they receive a final objective, which often has them seeking out some being who seeks to control the weather and bring them down.

Activities: Warning the common folk, enact Kydrus' judgemnets.
