The Nine Hells
The Domain of Devils
Devils originate from a Place called “The nine hells", a terrible place which according to legend came into existence during The Age of the Planar Conflict, but some speculate it always exited and these fiends, managed to bridge the gap, with the assistance of an individual only known by name as "Berezoch". These fiends at some point had great influence on the lands of man, but with the enactment of the Rules of Planar Traversal by Araquil this influence was greatly diminished. Every devil has an innate ability to set up and enforce an infernal contract, granting powerful boons to those that are willing to pay the price. The extend of this power depends of the abilities of the devil, or the combined strength of two or more devils if the these manage to arrange some agreement.
All Devil contracts are binding, but only those ratified by the Arch duke Asmodeus truly posses the power to rock the world. The appearance of the fiends differs greatly, but all posses great reasoning skills and always seek to entice others into their contracts, mortals being the most common, but on few occasions other fiends where tricked as well. They can easily communicate with those on other planes, either through vessels, avatars or other more archaic means with a final goal to tease mortals into signing a contract which grants them which they desire and allows the chosen devil to use the contacted a host, and grants the Devil full control over their soul. But when one seeks to contact a devil, one must either find one who signed a pact, and thus has become a host, or summon one. When one seeks to summon a Devil, one needs a couple of things: A book describing a ritual that accomplices that, the materials to do so, the name of the Devil to be summoned and a Being with an intelligence that matches the chosen Devil per rules of Planar Traversal. The summoning of an unwilling Devil is not easily accomplished, but summoning a willing one done so very easily. The time it takes to summon a devil depends of the devil to be summoned, but could vary from hours to Cinques, depending on preparation, skill and the willingness of the Devil to be summoned.
