Letter Sent in Secret Sponsorship
This Summercamp was wild! Thank you so much to all the creatives for the amazing work you put into the Letter Sent in Secret prompt, and thank you to WorldAnvil for choosing me to sponsor this prompt! I got to see emotions from profound sadness to the goofiest humor and I enjoyed every moment.
You all have made judging this prompt so incredibly difficult. I had a long list that I read over and over again for a week trying to chisel out a short list, there were so many fantastic entries.
How I Judged
There are no real rules to judging, so each sponsor can determine how they would like to judge. My one big determining factor I found throughout judging was love. If the article felt like the author spent time and effort on the article to really give it some love and respect, it was put in the long list. I went through every single article and any that were walls of text (here defined as a single long paragraph with no breaks) were immediately disqualified. From there, I read every single article. If the first few sentences didn't grab my attention, it was removed from the long list until I had around 80 entries. This is where things go way more difficult. Those 80-ish entries were wonderful.
I reread each one fully and those that felt like they had the most love put in to the creation made it through the next cut until I was down to 22. The most 'love' doesn't mean the most CSS or formatting, but the most care and time and effort put in. Just using bold, italic, headers, bullet points, and more available in the text editor, writers on WorldAnvil can do a lot without dipping into CSS, you don't need to know how to code to make your article look nice.
Ultimately, I was able to trim that list into my final short list. These articles are filled with awesome writing, great design, and you can see how much the authors love their worlds and the content they create. These articles all stood out to me for one reason or another and I wanted to make sure the authors all received a much deserved shoutout for their wonderful work this Summercamp. One of these fantastic pieces of fiction is the winner!
AAAAAAA i'm so glad you enjoyed my article!! <33
