A powerful boostergang holding dominion over Station , Laurel Park , and sections of Ribbon .
Hyperions' ideology is obscure bordering on occult, and little is known about it to the outsiders, which only fuels the rumors. Some say that they worship the unity between the man and the machine; others that their impressively painted and armored heavy wheeler vans are imbued with spirits of fallen brethren and are venerated as such. Yet another theory says that Hyperions hate their own humanity as much as everyone else's, and are just a bunch of cyberpsychos on the loose. Probably all of them are wrong.
True enough, the gang members are all heavily enhanced, and a large number of torture killings were associated with them and their Iron Eye symbol - a painted crimson circle on a grey band. But the brutal efficiency of Hyperion operations (robberies, assassinations, property takeovers) suggests that minds behind them are far from Cyberpsychosis .
There seems to be many netrunners associated with Hyperion. Profitable cybercrime would explain the income needed to acquire and maintain a mass of cyberwear that the gang uses. Another possible explanation is corporate funding, but there are no proven links as yet.
Experienced crime correspondents note the declining Hyperion activity over the last year. While other players are preparing to make moves on Hyperion's turf, Longfield Police analysts are reading 'calm before the storm' vibes.
