The Negative Energy Plane, also known as the Plane of Death or simply the Negative Plane, is a Transcendent Plane of Existence in the Syzygy Cosmology. It and its counterpart, the Positive Energy Plane, encompass the entire Astral Sea and provide the very fabrics of reality that allow everything within, even Ashra and Boda, to exist. There is very little to be said about the Negative Plane itself. Precious few individuals ever even became aware of its existence, and none has ever dared to travel there. If someone ever did manage to enter the Plane of Death, they would die immediately, for there is no way for life to exist within this Plane. However, if somehow an undead being managed to make its way to the Negative Plane, it would survive. Together with the Elemental Planes, the Negative and Positive Planes were key components in the accidental creation of Cynos. The Shadowfell and Feywild are the byproducts of mixing the Transcendent Planes with Cynos, and it is their existence that prompted mages and scholars to investigate and theorize about the Negative and Positive Planes in the first place.
