Trapped with feathers and bones

General Summary

After dispatching the kobolds near the entrance, the party delves deeper into the fortifications beyond the caves of Cuvella Creek Grotto. Near the entrance, the words "Save yourself, kill the others" are scrawled in old blood on the northern wall if the great hall. At the end of the hall, rests a well-maintained effigy of a wyvern. The previous one had been maintained haphazardly, but this one appeared immaculate. Runic carvings were discovered in a strange language beneath the statue.
The party went through two sets of large double doors on the south face of the hall and came to what appeared to be a dining hall. Half the hall had been caved in and crumbled over time. Remains of humanoids were found near overturned tables. The tables had large gouges across their surfaces. On the eastern side of the room, another set of double doors were wedged dubiously into a sagging frame.
Heiron Nymus , who had previously failed to kick in the door into the dining hall, decided to redeem himself. In a feat of great strength, he kicked the doors clean off their hinges. A clicking, guttural rattle emerged from the dust and darkness, followed by a screech. The party faced three undead owlbears. Failing to note the crumbling framework, most of the party charged headlong into the opening, which collapsed on the owlbears and party members alike.
Martiri  nearly fell in battle, coughing up blood after a particularly savage owlbear attack. She spit in the face of the owlbear and prepared to strike back, only to be buried in a pile of rubble. Heiron was able to save her, however, as the rest of the party dispatched the owlbears.
Maitar Stewar and Isla Heron began to search an old storage room. Unfortunately, the stress of the situation got the better of Isla and she unleashed her frustration in a fireblast to a nearby box, igniting most of the room. Only a few gold pieces were recovered from the room. The rest of the party took a brief rest and prepared for an expedition further into the grotto.
