Athoar : Griphon (At-oAr)

Creatures with the head, wings and talons of an eagle (Athyul, ancient) and the body, tail and back of a lion (Lheora, ancient) know as Gryphon (Athoar, ancient).

Basic Information

Anatomy

The creature has the characteristics of a great eagle and a lion.
Eagle:

• Head with feathers and a beak.
• Wings to fly at almost 13 Km/h.
• Talons as its front feet.

Lion:

• Body from the neck to the rear
• Tail
• Pawns as its rear feet.

Ecology and Habitats

Originally the habitat was hills and mountain range. When the Humans and Elves teamed and trained they have at least three breeding grounds: At the core of the elven empire, in the border of the central humand kingdom and one more at the mountains in the northeast near a dwarven settlement.
At the time the only know habitat is the island of Murak in the black void sea

Behaviour

They are territorial. Aggresive in nature to defend their nest, youngs and raider, onces teamed and trained.

Conservation Status

During the The two four war‌ the Minos and Dwarve see The orden of the Griffin‌ as a potential threat and start to destroy outpost even the humans are not involved in the war, but the griffin riders were always close to the elves, eventually they would be aid them.

As a ultimate measure for survival of the race, elven mages created The black void sea‌ , to protect the island they send the giffins to thrive.

Despite all effords the order has a traitor, someone colluded with the Minos that poison one of the griffins and spread it like disease. In fact the giffins perish and no one in the orden know this
