Thrumstål
Thrumstål, is a notably conductive rare metal mined exclusively in The Great North, it is often used for decorative purposes by the wealthy all across Eleron. The metal has only increased in rarity over time, as old sources dry up. New sites are kept as closely guarded secrets and traders go to great lengths to protect the identities of those involved in the processing, and prospectors travel far in hope of finding larger more sustainable veins of the ore. It is believed that Thrumstål is a metal originating from another plane and thus contains som minor magical properties which have not been thoroughly documented.
Appearance
A light steely blue, Thrumstål really stands out once hit by lightning or any electric charge, as it then shines a bright brilliant blue. It slowly returns to its prior state, the exact length of time required depending on the strength of the charge. During this time Thrumstål is incredibly dangerous to touch. Uncharged it may give a harmless zap to someone who brushes against it but is otherwise unremarkable.Use
The Stormspire is the most prominent example of Thrumstål in action. The statue is laced with veins of refined Thrumstål, and acts as a giant lightning rod. Once hit by lighting the Thrumstål lights up specific parts of the statue to create an awe-inspiring appearance. Given that it's flashier side only appears alongside electric charges, when used in architecture it is often outside in decorative lighting-attracting art pieces. Thrumstål's other use is in armour-making. As a metal with minor magical properties, it's been found to offer great resistance to lightning, a fact originally confusing many smiths. When used in conjunction with steel in weapon-making, it can create weapons that can channel lighting or thunder based spells, and deliver shocking blows to enemies after being charged with lighting.Characteristics
