Nailux Transformation

This condition is the event that Dark Infection culminates in and results in Nailux Ghouls. Referred to at times as just "Transformation", it is the point of no return for those infected by the dark.

Transmission & Vectors

Nailux Transformation is achieved solely through exposure to darkness. It cannot be passed on through any other means, apart from a Nailux parent to Nailux child.

Causes

If a person is exposed to the darkness for too long, they will be afflicted with Dark Infection, and if there is no exposure to light of any kind it will quickly result in a Nailux Transformation.

Treatment

Once the transformation has begun, there is no treatment.

Prognosis

Transformation will only result in a Nailux Ghoul. Extreme exposure to darkness after initial Nailux Transformation will cause Instability and a secondary Transformation into an abomination.

Affected Groups

Anyone can be affected by a Nailux Transformation.

Prevention

Exposure to light is the only prevention.

History

For as long as there have been abominations, there have been Nailux Ghouls.

Cultural Reception

Nailux are widely ostracised, but there are a few communities who accept them, and even some who see them as superior.
