Industry & Trade
The trade is one of the biggest sources of income for most of the population. Many ships stop by in the large harbor to trade wares and news. With Surusus sitting at the mouth of the river from lake Lomeda, many of the towns and villages around there are dependant on the city's trade, both for import and export.
Many other inhabitants of Surusus work with resources and crafting. Refining metals and other material from the mines up the mountains; using traded material to create new things and selling them; building and crafting using metals and wood from the forest.
Infrastructure
The big harbor is one of the signature places in Surusus, with many sections for the military, traders and fishers. It is one of the biggest harbors in Darta, only bested by the one in Orebo.
The city is well built. Many good roads, especially those to and from the harbor, The Academy, towards the mountains and by the coast. It has factories and buildings for handicraft, some taking care of the material from the mountains and some creating weapons for the military.

History
Surusus has existed in the same place for a very long time, but was officially made a city in 2367. Before that it had been a medium sized town, with a lot of trading and connections with lake Lomeda and the roads along the coast.
When the town was upgraded to a city it was royally funded. Workers came and rebuilt roads and houses, and official trade routes were strengthened.
Points of interest
Tourism
Surusus itself isn't a very pretty city, it was mostly built for industry. But those interested in history can visit the museum that tells a tale of Surusus, the mountains, crafting and much more.
The city is also a first stop for those who want to travel either to lake Lomeda or further up into the Hornhill mountain range. There are shops for those looking for proper equipment for climbing and similar activities.
