Goll (gəʊl)

Goll appears as a tall, ancient, anthropomorphic tree. His features are noble and broad with an arresting ruddiness. The scattered leaves that pepper his many branches burn with an early autumn orange hue, matching that of the orange, heart-like gemstone embedded in his chest.   Goll is often referred to as the sleeping mountain. There are tales of him falling asleep in mountain passes for so long that vegetation begins to grow on him. He himself is described as an amiable and jolly god who procrastinates his godly duties often. So much so that he was gifted a great tome of knowledge by his fellow gods that mapped out the world's path as a motivation, but he has yet to read it.   Gulla, his twin, and him share a, mostly, friendly rivalry between each other. Goll is mostly annoyed that she covered the earth in plants and makes them grow on him when he sleeps for too long. Gulla also tends to get on his nerves by riding him incessantly about being punctual and diligent in his duties.   The holy symbol of Goll is that of the Autumn tree with its leaves dispersed on the floor below it. During rituals to Goll tree branches are often used along with small precious stones that represent Goll himself, a valuable but fixed being.
