This early exposure sparked a lifelong fascination with machines and steam power, particularly trains, which he regards as marvels of human ingenuity and symbols of progress.   His career began at the age of 18 when he enlisted in the Zagar-La army, driven by a desire to explore the world and serve his nation. Displaying exceptional skill and bravery, Ivanov quickly climbed the ranks, garnering the respect of both peers and superiors. His military service also deepened his reverence for machinery, solidifying his faith in the Church of the Machine, which venerates technology as a divine boon to civilization.   Eventually, his path led him to the Iron Dragon, where he assumed the role of captain. His responsibilities include overseeing the train's security team and maintaining order during its journey. Captain Ivanov takes immense pride in his work, viewing the train as a second home and a testament to the technological advancements he holds sacred.   Captain Ivanov maintains a professional rapport with his crew, particularly valuing his camaraderie with Engineer Petrov, with whom he shares a deep passion for mechanics and steam power. He also has a mutual respect for Conductor Boris, regarding him as both a trusted colleague and friend. While generally amicable, he remains vigilant and cautious, especially around certain passengers like Professor Langdon and Madame Zara, whose behaviors and motives he finds suspect. Additionally, he harbors a discreet admiration for Countess Natalia, captivated by her elegance and charm.   Unbeknownst to him, his beloved train carries a hidden and ancient alien horror in its cargo car, a secret intricately tied to passengers like Madame Zara. As the night unfolds, Captain Ivanov finds himself thrust into a maelstrom of terror and chaos, where he must not only confront external threats but also protect those aboard the Iron Dragon.   When roleplaying Captain Ivanov as an NPC:
