The Shadim

Shadows of Power, Mysticism, and the Feral Across Vorcia   The Shadim are not merely a guild; they are a clandestine brotherhood deeply rooted in the labyrinthine city of Bianda-Tul, the capital of the desert empire of Vorcia. From their enigmatic stronghold in the ward of Umbrafell, their influence extends like tendrils of shadow not only into vital districts such as bustling Porta Almaz and the arcane sanctum of Sorensia but also across the arid expanses of the empire itself. Their mastery over shadow and space is so profound that they have tamed enigmatic entities from the shadow plane, using them as both guardians and symbols of their arcane prowess.
The Unseen Hand and the Unseen Beasts   The Shadim are the invisible architects shaping the destiny of the Zultarate of Vorcia, the imperial throne itself. Persistent rumors suggest a disquieting alliance that allows them to wield considerable influence in political subterfuge, illicit narcotics, and slave-trade—all under the secretive patronage of Vorcian royalty. The Shadim's enigmatic leader, known only as the Beastmaster, has forged a long-standing pact with a clan of Displacer Beasts from the shadow plane. These creatures serve as more than mere guardians; they are emissaries and spies, their eyes and ears extending the Shadim's reach into realms both seen and unseen.
The Quest for Lost Arcana and Feral Affinities The Shadim's ambitions soar beyond the realm of the mundane, reaching into the arcane and the mystical. They are the custodians of ancient secrets, particularly those related to long-forgotten methods of teleportation. Legend has it that their order once maintained a network of arcane temples that enabled instantaneous travel across the entire Continuum. Restoring these temples would not only grant the Vorcian throne unparalleled global reach but also resurrect an arcane power that could tip the balance of worldly affairs. Within the inner circle of the Shadim exists a revered Displacer Beast known as the Oracle. This enigmatic creature is considered a sacred guardian of the Shadim's most arcane secrets. Believed to glimpse the future and manipulate the threads of fate, the Oracle's prophecies have guided the brotherhood's actions for generations.
The Veil of Secrecy   Bound by an unbreakable code of silence and fidelity, the Shadim employ an intricate system of coded language and symbolic gestures to communicate. Their operations are compartmentalized, known only to a select few within their inner sanctum. This makes them not just an enigma but a multi-layered, multi-faceted organization that defies easy categorization. A secret sect within the Shadim, known only to the Beastmaster and his closest confidants, has discovered a way to merge their essence with that of the Displacer Beasts. This fusion not only enhances their teleportation skills but also allows them to summon creatures from the shadow plane at will.
The Dark Reflection   In many ways, the Shadim are a mirror to the city they inhabit—diverse, intricate, and indispensable to the machinations of Bianda-Tul. To the uninformed, they may seem a necessary evil; to those who have glimpsed their true scope, they are a force of awe-inspiring potential and peril. Their alliance with creatures of the shadow plane only deepens the enigma, adding another layer to their already complex identity.
The Web of Influence   The Shadim are not merely players on a local stage; they are architects in a grand design that could reshape the very fabric of the world. Their dual allegiance to both the Vorcian crown and the malevolent deity Te-Nesavatar adds a diabolical layer to their operations. With the Displacer Beasts and their hybrid kin as both guardians and instruments of their will, the Shadim stand on the brink of unlocking ancient pathways of power that could either illuminate the world or plunge it into abysmal darkness.
