Khthon

The land of Humans and home to rolling hills and pastures, Khthon is the picture-perfect place for hominess and tame wilderness. Isolated on its own fairly small island, the Nation of Khthon is quaint and wondrous alike, housing both vast pastures and giant cities. The ruling powers of Khthon have taken a page from the book of their forefathers in Werstrado, forming a Technocracy similar to the one that held power over Werstrado. With scientists, researchers, and inventors at the forefront of both the government and society in general, Khthon is a force to be reckoned with, especially in tourism.   Geographically, Khthon is a fairly simple island without much pull to it. Relatively far from other Nations besides Sunya, Khthon is not a super popular trade destination that other Nations hinge on. That being said, Khthon already has plenty of land and manpower to make use of, and is undoubtedly the most technologically advanced of the Nations, so much so that they've decided they don't even really need the trade economy that they used to yearn for. No, instead, they'll build and build until the other Nations have been left in the dust, forcing them to their knees as they realize that the Nation they forgot surpassed them long ago. Truly, what more is there in Khthon besides plains and grasslands?   Khthon is home to the Humans, Changelings, Halflings, and other humanoid races. The culture is diverse from race to race, but is largely set in a type of pseudo-modernity that the traditionals and elders frown upon. What even is an Aarakocran festival if the hills and rocks are built from bronze?   The capital of Khthon is Gransbury, a town of spired peaks and urban skylines bathed in bronze. Bustling and never sleeping, the cogs of technology tick and tock to keep Gransbury moving and working around the clock. As the civilization furthest East in all of Khthon (and Deoryüm itself, for that matter), few know the true power and awe of Gransbury, and those who have been are almost never believed.
