Laesa Silverbraid (a.k.a. The Silver Hammer)
Laesa Silverbraid is the proprietor and chief smith of the Royal Forge and Smith. She is a highly skilled smith, with expert knowledge of smelting and producing pure metals, including quality steel, gold, and silver, as well as lesser metals and alloys. Silverbraid has introduced techniques to ensure precision and repeatability into the objects she makes, giving them better fit and finish than what most other smiths are able to achieve. She often works closely with the Secretary of the Treasury, Renaud Desjardins, the Secretary of the Military, Sir Thore Hanssen, and the Secretary of Royal Affairs, Helen Johansen.
Laesa Silverbraid's great-grandmother constructed the original Kinmet and Kinhundul at the Royal Forge and Smith. Ownership of the smithy and forge, as well as advanced smithing and forging techniques, were passed down from Silverbraid's ancestors to her. Laesa Silverbraid has continued the ancestral traditions and improved on them.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Laesa Silverbraid is relatively short and stout, but not fat. As an accomplished smith, she works hard, which maintains her physical condition, and her upper body strength rivals or exceeds that of most men. As the owner of a licensed royal forge and smithy, her income allows her to be well-fed and healthy. After working around forges and hot metal, her skin is somewhat rough and has some burn scars, especially on her hands and arms, but she does her best to take care of her skin with ointments and potions provided by healers.

Like most smiths and other craftspeople, Laesa Silverbraid is a devotee of Valamarashe. She also follows Druikshe. Her desire to improve the techniques and equipment she uses for crafting things of metal causes some tension between her and the monks of The Vestry of Valamarashe charged with upholding the strictures of the Praxis Illicitus. The monks are suspicious that Silverbraid is dabbling in forbidden practices, and they often "visit" the Royal Forge and Smith, looking for prohibited works.

As proprietor of the Royal Forge and Smith, Laesa Silverbraid is relatively wealthy. Her skills, and those of the other smiths and jewelers at the Royal Forge and Smith, bring in a healthy income and considerable profits.
