Humans are not native to Derkomai; they arrived on Derkomai 5600 years (5866 Earth standard years) prior to the current year. The Elvirim tell stories of their arrival in a Great Fall from the sky. Many of the humans were killed in the Fall, and many were were injured and later died or starved. The Elvirim and Dwarvirim helped many of the injured and starving humans, probably saving the humans from being utterly destroyed.
