Sei San Sostehe

Sei San Sostehe (The Sea and Mountain Society) is a secret organization operating in Senyon opposed to the rule of the Imperial Family of the Great Sacred Empire and rule of the Azmasanmanne clans over the Senmanne people of Senyon.

Structure

The Sei San Sostehe are led by six noble Senmanne clans, foremost of which is the Zhu clan, the family of the emperors of the previous imperial dynasty that was disgraced and overthrown after The Battle for Sendoshi. The Zhu family is based in Seitoshi, and controls transportation up and down the Great Eastern River and much of the sea trade between Senyon and other countries surrounding the Black Dragon Sea.   The other five noble Seimanne families of the Sei San Sostehe are:
  • The Pan family, based in Lokminto. The Pan family has close connections to the Steppe People of Da Nis Grissyond Okku.
  • The Zhang family, based in Sashiminto. The Zhang family has connections to The Red Flag Fleet of Hsing Jenlee.
  • The Zhou family, based in Lokyosa. The Zhou family has close connections to the Steppe People of Da Azmi Grissyund Okku and even to Manyund. The Zhou family controls the border between Senyon and the northern steppe.
  • The Yue family, based in Okiishi. The Yue family controls salt and metal mining in the West Spur Range, as well as transportation up and down the Senyon River.
  • The Lin family, based in Derkweiyosa, controls the border between Senyon and the southern wildlands and trade between Senyon and Rigosland.
Besides the six clans that form the core of the Sei San Sostehe, other less prominent clans and families of commoners are associated with the organization and provide most of the hands that do the work.   The heads of six clans meet regularly to discuss the business and formulate the plans of the Sei San Sostehe. Zhu Shi, head of the Zhu clan, is the acclaimed head of the organization.

Culture

The Sei San Sostehe is corrupt from top to bottom. Though its purpose is ostensibly to oppose the rule of the Imperial Family of the Great Sacred Empire, much of its energy goes into its legal and illegal businesses and moneymaking. Infighting among the six clans is common, including occasional assassinations of rival clan members over intrusion into territories, broken business deals, revenge for wrongs, and so on. Zhu Shi attempts to direct the clans into executing plans to overthrow Emperor Yixing-Jiumin Jinsen, but has limited success, due to his own corruption and weak leadership, and effective counter-espionage by the emperor's operatives.

Public Agenda

The primary aim of the Sei San Sostehe is the destabilzation and overthrow of the Imperial Family of the Great Sacred Empire, re-establishing the rule of the Senmanne Zhu clan as rulers of Senyon. Alongside that, the organization has many business operations that provide income to the six core families and their associates. Beside their legitimate businesses, the Sei San Sostehe is involved in many illegal activities, including smuggling, gambling, prostitution, protection rackets, and drug manufacturing and distribution. The illegal operations serve to provide income as well as undermine and weaken Senyon society.

Assets

The six core families of the Sei San Sostehe are wealthy, controlling many legal and illegal businesses, land, and manors throughout Senyon. Besides the business operations of the Sei San Sostehe, the organization and clans operate small private armies and rings of undercover spies, agents, and assassins.
