The Coils of Apopshe

The Coils of Apopshe is the symbol of the followers of Apopshe, especially of the Drow Elvirim covert organization of spies and assassins within House Alierma known as The Night of Apopshe, but sometimes used by Human operatives of The Order of Apopshe.
It is sometimes left on the body of the victims of assassination by Shadows of The Night of Apopshe to send a message to others not to cross the Shadows.

Significance

The Coils of Apopshe is a clear sign of the presence of a Shadow of The Night of Apopshe. Even when used by an operative of The Order of Apopshe, it is only at the direction of a Shadow. No one else would dare to make use of the Coils without the direction of a Shadow of the Night.
The Coils of Apopshe are not common, but not due to the rarity of the materials used or any difficulty in making them. Typically, the Coils of Apopshe are simply drawn or painted on a piece of paper. However, the Coils are only left on the body of a victim in circummstances where they want to send a clear message. Since they nearly always prefer to work covertly, with no one knowing who or why, or even how, someone was assassinated, the Coils are rarely left behind.
