Nuk'holne'

Nuk'holne' is an interesting place, with a fascinating people, and a unique outlook on divinity.   Found to the west, the Nuk'holne' have developed mostly in isolation from the rest of the world. Their only immediate neighbor (and the only nation we were aware of on the continent upon initial discovery), Ochec, having been indisposed for the better part of the last few centuries. This has created a microcosm of societal development, one the leyman would find quite strange.   To us, gods are just that, gods. They have otherworldly skill with the domains that they are granted but are not necessarily tied to said domain in any way. The Nuk'holne' see it the opposite way. To them, their gods are quite literally born from their domains. Gods of the wind are born from the wind. Gods of fire, the same. Even gods of knowledge or sprung from the thoughts and ideas of individuals. We believe the gods to be humans, essentially, that can bend the world in ways mortals could only ever dream, the Nuk'holne' posit the gods are nature incarnate.   Many have attempted to 'convince' the Nuk'holne' of what some would consider the Ahutaqa's 'mistake' have either been laughed off or thrown off the continent, depending on the severity of the attempt. In the last decade, Ochec attempted to invade northward, seeming to hope to find a fresh source of sacrifices. They sent three armies. One was ambushed and destroyed before it even crossed the border.   The second was sealed in a canyon and was methodically and continually picked off by sharpshooters until it surrendered wholesale.   The third simply vanished without a trace.   In matters other than war, they are a calm and stoic people. Reserved in a way that can be off-putting to people who are unprepared or of a more energetic persuasion.   Their gods tend to be very close to nature, with a slight leaning towards war.
