Battlecraft

Battlecrafts are essentially medium size space war vehicles that serve as a bridge in functionality between Skirmishers and Warcrafts. As with the other ship classes, Battlecrafts have two subclasses: Defenders and Stealthcrafts. While Battlecrafts serve usually as the main line vessels that do much to extended the longevity of a force in combat with their larger weapons and heavier armor. Defenders' jobs are to keep any missiles are other large projectiles from reaching and damaging both themselves and other friendly crafts around them. Often times they bristle with rapid firing point defense guns or lasers that are capable of hitting projectiles and destroying them before they reach their targets. Defenders will also usually have multiple chaff depensors that can even take the form of chaff missiles that project fields of reflective chaff to disrupt laser beams and the like. The last type of Battlecraft, Stealtchcrafts, are fairy self explanatory in their naming conventions. Sloping angles and advanced heat containment hulls in addition to stealth coating paint serve to greatly limit the ability of enemy vessels' radar and LiDAR to abserve them. Often times Stealthcrafts perform missions out on their own, covertly observing enemy military assets without ever being seen. While Stealthcrafts somtimes have no weapons at all, they often have concealed missiles ports or cannon banks to defend themselves in the event that they have the misfortune to be spotted.
