Bogandrak Prison
Purpose / Function
Bogandrak was originally contructed as just another water heat mining facility on Ganymede, but before long it was discovered that the water reserve the facility was stationed on had been poisoned by unknown chemical deposits in the ground nearby, turning the valuable water highly acidic and unusable. Rather than let the building go to waste, the Vruxari Empire converted to facility into a maximum security prison reserved for the worst criminals and religious offenders due to escape being made nearly impossible by the only 1 route in and out and the remaining area underground and surrounded by essentially a sea of acid. The prison remains the largest in use by the Vruxari Empire to this day, with the underground cells being expanded to hold an estimated 10 thousand people, though it is not known how many people currently reside there.
Alterations
When the facility was converted into a prison, the walls were reinforced to make escape even more impossible, as well as the upper living quarters being changed into garrisons for guards and the one entry/exit being reinforced and duplicated for backup and security purposes. Many years later as the prison began to fill up, the underground portion of the structure was greatly expanded both out and down to make room for many more prisoners.
