Daw

Daw, the Grey Light, slides its way across the skies of Devorn each evening and hides beyond the sight of the world each day. Daw's cycle lasts 45 days and includes 8 day periods of New and Full moon phases, also known as the depth and the rise. While Daw is in Full it dominates the night sky and shines almost as brightly as the sun, when however Daw is in New it can barely be seen through the subtle shine of Dakn. The calendar of Devorn has been based on Daw's cycle following the Great Unshackling and Dakn freezing. Other names for Daw include: The Pale Light, Radiance, The Shifter, and The Blessed Moon.   The majority of festivals, rituals, and holidays observed by people of Devorn are based in part around the cycle of Daw. Daw's place in the mythology of Devorn is that of a beacon for change and altering states. Daw is equally important to worshippers of Feurl, God of the Hearth and to worshippers of Daraxo, God of Death. One popular belief is that Daw allows itself to fade so that it's twin, Dakn, can take earn reverence as part of the night's sky as it shines on Devorn.
