Barbarian

Barbarians are primal, savage fighters that rely on their physical prowess and animalistic rage in battle. They favor melee combat, preferring to fight their opponents up close, though most are capable of using ranged weapons when necessary. While berserk, a barbarian is a difficult opponent to bring down.   Unlike warriors, barbarians are less concerned with discipline and training, instead relying on instinct and brute force to win. Their robust physiques allow them to shrug off more punishment than other fighters, and they are less reliant on their armor. Most barbarians often follow traditions handed down by their communities that further shape the way their rage manifests.

Barbaric Traditions

Ancestral Wrath: Barbarians that revere their ancestors can channel their forebearers' fury. These barbarians become surrounded by ancestral flames while berserk, protecting them and burning their foes.
Blood Dancer: Most common among female barbarians, blood dancers forego brute strength in favor of deadly speed and grace. They favor fighting with two smaller weapons to allow them to tear apart their foes in dazzling displays of beauty and gore.
Demonic Rage: The barbarian has become host to the malevolence of a demonic spirit, wittingly or not. Demonic Rage barbarians double the potency of their berserker rage but must remain strong-willed or else suffer the backlash of their dark powers.
Mental Shift: Untraditional barbarians, these mild-mannered people seem perfectly ordinary...until they're not. Mental Shift barbarians seem to "snap" when entering berserk, acting almost as if they have a split personality (and perhaps they do). This psychological partitioning helps them to reduce the costs of going berserk.
Unbreakable Fury: These barbarians are more concerned with survival than damage, and become much tougher while berserk. They gain better defensive bonuses, and reduce their defensive penalties during their rage, making them almost impossible to kill.
Wilderman: Barbarians raised in feral environments, perhaps being raised among animals or in a vicious household. These barbarians are better able to fight even while unarmed and rely on their nails and teeth, or anything that helps them survive. While the most vicious, their upbringing usually has reduced them to barely more than beasts, perhaps beyond saving.
