Fishfolk

Fishfolk is the name given to the ethnicity of Monimal characterized mainly by the presence of fins, gills, and the natural ability to breathe when underwater. They can survive on land but the more time that passes without spending time in a body of water, the more their mental health might suffer and the weaker their immune systems can become. As such the majority live near sources of water or in water entirely. There are even a number who never surface on land for their entire lives. Traditionally, they have been largely secluded from the other ethnic groups and been isolationist in the past. They are also some of the least dispersed ethnicity with 78% calling the Southern Isles and surrounding oceans their home, and being relatively scarce anywhere else on X-Planet.
