Power of Kings and Queens

The Power of Kings and Queens or sometimes shortened to The Royal Right is a mysterious suite of abilities carried by those of a specific lineage on X-Planet. Those who've inherited the ability will know it via a distinctive "X" mark on their body somewhere.
This power is not always inherited however, there have been cases of Royals whose firstborn or secondborn progeny did not have the telltale mark, or even none of the descendants of an entire generation. Those born of the mark are often the preferred heir to the throne of The Constitutional Monarchy of X-Planet.

Symptoms

The exact machinations of the Right and how exactly it works is not truly known, and is semi-unique to each carrier. The constant, is that for those who begin to wield it, a golden aura will begin to slowly show with the mark shining brightly. Various common applications through the centuries have seen such feats as manifesting golden wings, a common symbol in art and iconography about the Royal lineage and family, granting the wielder up to supersonic flight. Other known applications include enhanced durability up to being able to withstand several megaton explosions as well as strength several times more than an average Monimal of similar size and musculature.
Other minor manifestations include; overall greatly enhanced reflexes and reaction times, enhanced healing, and the ability to purge most poisons, and with training, the ability to manifest the aura around various body parts for greater durability and destructive power.
Most of these abilities cannot be called upon entirely at will for a majority of the wielders throughout history. Some have used them all to frightening effect and others, only just barely able to wield it. The trend, as far as can be observed, is that the arsenal of abilities granted can only come after "pulling" them forth in over time in moments of heightened tension and emotion.

Traditionally, those born of the mark are expected to wield its abilities in service of the The Kingdom and are thusly trained from an early age in both traditional combat prowess as well as in wielding the Right. For many, it is seen as the great tool and symbol of the unity the Monimal have enjoyed under the unified Kingdom.
