Shifted Kris, posing as Asriel, forces Asriel to Shift before publicly executing him via guillotine.

Kris arrives at Asriel's hideout in South Capital City, Shifted to appear like Chara. He is dragged along by Shifted fae guards, broken and bleeding. Asriel sees what he thinks is his best friend, dying, and almost instantly agrees to the guards' terms: that Asriel return to the castle and allow himself to be executed, lest Chara is. It is too late when Asriel realizes that he has been duped. Kris takes Asriel to the dungeon and allows him to use the magic contained in Kris's Ingem, giving him just enough information to Shift to appear as Kris does now, a shell of a human. Then at noon sharp, he has the guards drag Asriel outside and to the guillotine they had set up for him, and they kill him there.
