History
Chara and Kris were close ever since Chara was a boy. Though Kris was thirteen years older than him, Chara found him immensely exciting and wonderful. He did everything with Kris, and listened to him speak of what he was learning in the Congregatio Magorum. It was like paradise. Chara loved his cousin so, so much. And Kris loved him too. But when Kris was thirty-one, and Chara was eighteen, Kris disappeared without a trace. The Consilium Magorum, The Council of the Magicians took Chara, a new mage, aside and told him that Kris had stolen an artifact and supplies from the Congretio and run, it seemed, towards the Sicatrin mountains. They could not, or did not, tell Chara why that was. And ever since then he has wondered why, why, why Kris abandoned him. What he was doing. But he could not figure it out no matter how he tried.
History
When Asriel discovered that Kris was the shapeshifter who had taken over his kingdom and executed him, he let all love or care he might have felt for the man leave him. What Kris had done, as far as Asriel was concerned, was unforgivable. Kris, on the other hand, returned the hateful outward feeling but worried inside. Was he doing the right thing? How could he blame Asriel for striking back? Kris wasn't sure.
