General Physical Condition

Holly has blonde hair in a bob cut that is in the process of growing out. Somewhat short, she looks unassumung as a result of it. On her face, her otherwise pale skin has been tinted in a much more healthy tone by sun exposure, almost making it look like a permanent blush applied to her nose and cheeks.
Holly wears glasses and a cabbie hat that ends up half resting on them. Always dressed in baggy clothes, she tends to hug her torso with her arms if she isn't doing anything else. Overall, she gives the impression of someone who always wants to hide at the next given opportunity. It makes her look a bit frail.

Background & Youth

Holly was born and raised in Cape St. Joan. Her father, a successful international business consultant, travels a lot, leaving Holly alone at home with her mother for most of the time. As an only child, she had her mother's almost undivided attention, but from an early age on had trouble connecting with other children her age, being extremely shy. In elementary school, she did not make friends and instead kept to herself. She simply less active than the average child around her, unwilling or unable to partake in many of their hobbies and having little in common with them as a result. She hated the attempts of the teachers to get her to engage more with her classmates. It was also around this time that she developed a persistent stutter.
For this and her reclusive behaviour, she'd later started to get picked on by other students. Initially silently enduring the treatment, as it grew worse she frequently lashed out. Poor management of the issue by the school and her mother led her to eventually fall back into passivity when the retaliation grew into outright bullying. Trying to find hobbies to distract her from this routine, she discovered her liking for sewing and other crafts, taking to them with dedication and care and using them to indulge some of her weirder hobbies.
She also became more distant from her mother due to not wanting to burden her with her problems. This has caused her mother no short amount of distress, while her father from his constant travels can not provide enough emotional support for her to help her out of her situation as the designated bully victim all the way into high school.

Volume 1: Balance

Holly was involved in a robbery attempt in St. Joan Beach in early 2023. The criminal was stopped by Lucas Cross, a classmate of Holly, leading her to form one of her first schoolside connections in a long time.

Intellectual Characteristics

Holly is a shy and honest girl with all the hallmarks of a 'victim mindset' that many who are bullied exhibit: Averse to seeking help, slow to trust, prone to bottling up her emotions and fiercely protective of anything personal for fear it might be used against her. Beneath this shell she has built for herself, she is a kind, if cynical and increasingly jaded person. She can get very absorbed in her hobbies, as they serve as a convenient distract from the things that bother her.
