United States of America

The United States of America (U.S.A.), often also referred to simply as the United States (US or U.S.), or simply America is a Federal presidential constitutional republic in North America. It is not only the third most populous country in the world, but also the fourth largest country by territory and sports the largest economy in the world by nominal GDP.

Structure

There is a president. They are elected in what's gotta be the most outdated election system possible in a democracy. They also have a bunch of secretaries working for them that run the country.
There is a congress, consisting of Senate and House of Representatives. Both are elected with less archaic systems^{[citation needed]}, but still use first-past-the-post, which is all sorts of stupid. They pass laws, except for when a state has jurisdiction over something instead of the federal government.
There is the U.S. Supreme Court, which is filled with people nominated by the president and confirmed by congress. They say what laws are and aren't legal. If something isn't legal, the Chancellor the Emperor the government has to make it legal first by passing a constitutional amendment. The lower courts also all defer to the Supreme Court.

History

Was founded after a bunch tea got thrown around. Fought itself cause it couldn't agree on whether slavery was a good idea. Isolated for a while before it got dragged into two world wars, rising to prominence on the world stage in the process. Fought a Cold War against the Soviet Union, a disastrous war in Vietnam and a messy war against terror in the Middle East.
