Merchant Town

Merchant Town is the northermost part of Cape St. Joan, Oregon. Originally the location of a market place in the city's earlier days, it is one of the town's oldest districts.
After industry sprung up around The Harbour, Merchant Town fell into disuse as a trading place. These days it is mostly a tourist attraction, as the many old brick buildings give the district as distinctive look and nostalgic feel. As businesses moved out, hotels and sourvenier shops have taken their place as a result.
It borders St. Joan Beach, East End and The Block.
