Rutherford Belle

Rutherford Belle is a very private person, so not much is known about about his past. He was born and raised in Sharn. Moranne Belle, Rutherford's mother died soon after his birth. His father Rodick Belle was a contracter/builder, so Rutherford grew up on construction sites among his father's Warforged builders. As an only child, the Warforged were his only real social contacts. Given the dangerous environments and work conditions and the sometimes questionable build-quality of the Warforged, they needed regular maintenance and repairs, a task that Rutherford gladly made his. One Warforged, Boomer, was particularly shoddy and needed a lot more attention than the others. Because of this Boomer and Rutherford spent a lot of time together and became friends. During the many maintenance sessions, Rutherford came to appreciate and respect Boomer's personality. He was more than just a "machine", but an actual individual. When he started to see Boomer more as a person it became clear to him that Boomer wasn't a special case, but that most Warforged had at least some notions of personalities. Being treated more a colleagues and workers, rather than machines, boosted the Warforged moral and soon Belle Constructions became known as a reliable, fast and high quality contracter. A few good years followed, but when Rodick started a personal project, to honor his late wife, things went downhill quickly. He spent more and more time on the project and started turning down job after job, so he could keep his focus on building the memoriam. Rutherford saw what was happening, but was affraid to intervene, because his father was so invested in trying to express the love for Moranne. Eventually the project was the only thing Rodick, Rutherford and the Warforged were working on. It was a small cosy park with a beautiful tower in the centre, in the the middle parts of Sharn. Though the location might not be special, the park absolutely was. A rare piece of genius and beauty, filled with green, fountains and a magnificent small tower. Sadly, Rodick's obsession with the project , became his downfall and before the tower was finished he passed away of pure exhaustion. Though stricken with grief, Rutherford and the Warforged continued with the project until it was completely finished. They buried Rodick next to the tower, with a small gravestone, simply marked "Belle". With their source of income was completely lost, Rutherford shared the remaining funds among himself and the Warforged and each went their own way. Rutherford and Boomer headed to the higher area's of Sharn, towards House of Cannith, to offer a Warforged maintainance service. Not long after he met IO Tinker, a brilliant Warforged programmer and toghether they started a small workshop to update and optimize Warforged. They called the company "TinkerBelle" and it soon prospered. Boomer was their first employee, as a shop hand, helping where needed. When Rutherford noticed that IO was secretly making warforged more autonomous, he immediatly joined these efforts to add more personality to each Warforged. Eventhough their plans to free the Warforged are going strong, Rutherford still dreams to one day gain control over the forges to once again create new Warforged from scratch.
