Júgan Emberbrew
Júgan Emberbrew is a dwarven baker and alchemist. He is a current member of Marvella's Menagerie of Might & Magic and a Cultist of the Broken Chain.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
A stout dwarven man with a long, red beard and moustache tied into braids at the ends. His mouth is invisible unless he's smiling his broad, toothy smile, which he most often is. He is often seen wearing a stained, white apron over rugged, utilitarian leather clothes colored in drab browns and greens.

Personal history
Júgan grew up in the Dwarven city of Bjarg and showed an early love of cooking. As he grew older, this love transitioned into studies of alchemy, and he later travelled to the city of Kunnigstein to study at Fródleikr Academy. He excelled in his alchemical studies and quickly found himself working closely with the academy's headmaster, joining him on expeditions into the Jungstol Mountains to research ancient ruins and mineral deposits.
During one particular expedition exploring the ruins of Moragg, Júgan uncovered some of the plane's first known traces of Thaumium. The crystals gave off an intense aura that the headmaster immediately recognized as a magical amplifier. He brought this discovery before the Dwarven council, insisting that they could utilize the magic in these rare stones to aid in their conflict with the Duergar of Bennoth Mond. The council agreed, and put the headmaster in charge of official excavation of these rare minerals, as well as permission to test the capabilities of the crystals. The headmaster, pleased with this promotion, brought Júgan on as his apprentice.
The headmaster's experiments with Thaumium ended tragically. Júgan was overseeing the mining operations on the same day a magical reaction to the mineral created a large explosion that ripped through the headmaster's alchemical lab, killing him and several powerful mages of the Academy. The Dwarven council ordered the immediate cessation of mining operations as well as experiments with Thaumium, which was deemed too dangerous to be used.
Distraught by his mentor's death and enraged by the council's shortsightedness, Júgan absconded with several bags full of Thaumium crystals and fled south down the Manital Range, crossing the Cerulean Sea into Urdrak'seg. In Urdrak'seg, he met Tina Karmukaga and the two journeyed east to Zandrazil, where they met a young Luna DeLorde just as she and her sister were making plans to start a traveling carnival. Júgan was instantly smitten with the younger DeLorde and eagerly agreed to join the carnival as its resident cook.
Júgan continued experimenting with the Thaumium he had stolen. He found the crystals had an exceptionally sweet flavor and turned his attention to utilizing them in baking by crushing the crystals into a fine powder. By adjusting the amount of powder he used in his recipes, he found he could somewhat control the magical effects of his creations. Even just a small amount of powder would have a minor harmless magical effect when ingested.
As the carnival travelled east to Sekajota, Júgan grew closer with Luna DeLorde, who had fallen for the dwarf's genial charm and loved listening to his stories of the far-off Dwarven Kingdom. Luna would ask Júgan, with his academic knowledge, about dwarven history, magic, and religion, taking particular interest in their creation myths and old gods.
When Luna disappeared following the altercation with Marvella, Júgan was left feeling empty. He considered leaving the carnival to seek out Luna, but the night before he planned to approach Marvella about leaving, the dwarf was visited in a dream by Tharizdun, who had learned of the dwarf from his newest priestess and sensed the weakness and uncertainty in Júgan.
Tharizdun informed Júgan that Luna was safe and under his protection, and instructed the dwarf to remain on his current path. He promised Júgan would eventually reunite with Luna, and with his power the two of them could travel to Jungstol to overthrow the dwarven council that had wronged him centuries ago.
