The Volary

The Volary is the informal name for the Quorel'hrim Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which officially serves as the King Regent's intelligence apparatus but more importantly serves as the kingdom's Assassin's Guild.
The sworn goal of the Volary is the security and continuity of the King Regent and the Kingdom. Officially, this means the guild is made up of ambassadors and statesmen, handling diplomatic relations with foreign dignitaries and keeping the Council abreast of events throughout Divostra. Their role as a clandestine intelligence gathering and espionage operation is assumed, though the scope of these duties is not well-known outside of the King Regent and the Volary itself. The guild operates outside of the laws of Quorel'hrim, carrying out covert operations that include assassinating revolutionary leaders, fomenting unrest in hostile kingdoms, and spying on political officials.
Members of the Volary are often called Aewen and use different bird species for codenames. The current spymaster of the guild is Davion Heledir, the Raven.
