Owlbear Hartshorn

Owlbear Hartshorn is a simple-minded, hulking brute who serves as Mr. Plugg's personal enforcer and pet aboard The Man's Promise. Despite his intimidating size and strength, Owlbear possesses a gentle and loyal nature, endearing him to some of the crew members, particularly Nyx  and Vivienne, with whom he shares a strong bond.

PERSONAL HISTORY

Born in theLhazaar Principalities, Owlbear Hartshorn had a difficult upbringing due to his limited mental capacities. His imposing stature and natural strength led him to be exploited by unscrupulous individuals, who used him for their own gain. Eventually, he found his way onto The Wormwood, where Mr. Plugg took him under his wing and recognized the potential in Owlbear's physical prowess.

CURRENT ROLE

As Mr. Plugg's enforcer, Owlbear Hartshorn is responsible for carrying out the captain's orders and maintaining discipline among the crew. Despite his fearsome appearance, Owlbear is not inherently cruel, and he struggles with the violent tasks he is often assigned. His friendships with Nyx and Vivienne provide him with a measure of comfort and support amid the harsh environment of the pirate ship.

RELATIONSHIPS

Owlbear Hartshorn's relationships aboard The Man's Promise are varied. He has a love/hate relationship with Mr. Plugg and Master Scourge. On one hand, he is reliant on them for protection and guidance, and feels a sense of loyalty towards them due to a hostage mentality. On the other hand, he secretly resents their cruel treatment and longs for true friendship and acceptance. Owlbear's true friends are Nyx and Vivienne, who see past his brutish exterior and value his gentle nature.
