Hardbuckler
Hardbuckler is a small town of gnomes in the Western Heartlands.
It was a favorite location for traders along the Dusk Road, owing to the gnomes' industriousness. The major industry was secure, private storage for any type of goods. The storage facilities were made secure through the work of a wizard named Aldiber Inchtawurn, who created powerful wards protecting the walls and storage facilities of Hardbuckler.
Additionally the gnomes exported elaborate locks, sturdy wooden crates, and a distinctive green seam-sealing wax sold in cloth rolls.
The town is governed by a council made up of gnome elders. Two were known to be Hammas Isynd and Orival Bundifeather.
Exports: Locks, wooden crates, and seam sealing wax.

Quests: Reaching Woods Hideout:
- Stumbleduck's Inn innkeeper Banmila Carwyse Trina Lilfyx asks adventurers if maybe they were travelling through Reaching Woods and if they had seen an elderly gnome woman. She explains that her mother (Tana) got lost in the woods yesterday. She went berry picking and never came back. She asks if when adventuring they could try look for her since she's very worried something bad happened to her.
- If they ask more about the mother, Banmila says that she usually doesn't go far and knows the woods really well.
- If adventurers ask around more (locals/shopkeepers) they get told that there have been more disappearances lately (another local's brother's been missing for a week now etc.).
- Daisy Cutter Stables owner Holfo Hornblower informs the party about heard rumors from Trielta Hills that half of the farmer's sheeps are missing.
- Some saying that orcs are going wild and are responsible trying to cause unrest in the region. Others say that maybe some monster has moved from the Forest of Wyrms and is now on the hunt. But nobody really knows and are scared waiting for the next attack.
- He suggests if adventurers want to earn some honest gold they could go try investigate the issue. If they don't know the way he can show the settlement on the map (it would take less than a day) and they could stay over at his great uncle's (Gilbert Hornblower) summer house.
- In The Sparkling Rune if adventurers seem interested in Felver's stock and magic items, he will ask for a favor in return to get access to his magical items collection.
- He tells them about the ruins of an ancient city Talis in the Reaching Woods near the River Reaching. The city belonged to Talfir an extinct race of humans who once dwelt in the lands that later became known as the Western Heartlands. They originated in the great forest of Shantel Othreier and may have shared lineage with the modern Tethyrian race.
- Religious scholars suspected that the Talfir were responsible for introducing many of the gods of the Faerûnian pantheon to the world, most notably the deity Tempus. No one knew what happened to the Talfirc, they disappeared centuries before.
- Felver has found some information in one of the books he recently bought that there was a church of Tempus in Talis. He believes that part of the church could still be intact and could still have some artefacts or Red tears.
- Red tears or Tempus weeping are teardrop-shaped crystals with a glossy surface, vividly colored fiery orange, cherry red, or blood crimson. Legends say they were the tears of lovers left behind after their sweethearts perished in battle, stained by the blood of the fallen.
- Tempus was the greater god of war in the Faerûnian pantheon. The dogma of the Lord of Battles was primarily concerned with honorable combat, forbidding cowardice and encouraging the use of force of arms to settle disputes. His holy symbol is a flaming sword behind a shield.
- Felver asks adventurers to find the ruins of Talis and bring back the red tear or any other artefacts from the church.
