Shifter

“...and the problem with werewolves is they do mumble their words, so sometimes you could mistake a grunt for a gurgle, or an oooarrghh for an eereggagh, and completely misunderstand what they were talking about.”
After Melania in the magical woods some of the wood elves have changed, becoming something entirely new, all together. The Shifters, who are practically wood elves that have the imprint of animals in their blood and can transform into a wilder form of themselves, gifting them the traits of the specific animal they are fused with.   They are not a breedable species though, but instead come forth randomly, and are regarded as gifts from x to the clan.  It is because of the blessing they are seen as that they often find themselves being trained for leadership, warrior or scout positions from an early age. And thanks to their talents, they indeed often grow up to be some of the most skilled in their communities, bringing prosperity upon them.

Appearance

They look just like normal wood elves most of the time. Only when they transform into their feral form they gain physical traits of their animal, like ears, tails, or different eyes for example.

Dm Advice

With their second, animalistic nature, the Shifters give some fun room for visualizing your character's personality. As the animal they are says a lot about their character too. So, what does their animal represent? What personality traits does it represent? And also; how does your character deal with being a blessing? Is this title perhaps to much pressure for them? Does it make them strive to be the best? Or has it gotten to their head and made them arrogant? And why did they leave their town when they are a blessing there? Do their people resent them for leaving?
