Wood Elf
We did not hear nor see them coming, as far above our heads, through the trees crowns they danced. And when they fell like ripe apples before our feet we had long forgotten our guard or all the rules a proper guest should have obeyed. As this was their woods, and we were merely passing through.Wood elves, have long separated from their brothers and sisters in x, and stayed in the woods, huddled together in small and cozy communities up in the x trees. Living alongside all the other woodland beings peacefully, safekeeping the nature around them.
As such they have developed especially keen senses for their surroundings and a deep intuition about danger, many in the big cities have long-lost. They are also some of the quickest wanderers, having mastered the art of traversing quickly and stealthily in the hunt for their food and to escape natures dangers. Their jobs are often rather simple and rudimentary, as is the nature of their communities. As hunters, gatherers, healers, builders and craftsmen they supply everything they need to themselves. Proud of the independence this gives them from the regents up in the north. Ruled are they only by their own. Every small gathering they live in having their own majors and council elected, which organizes their resources. And while they often let other races live in their ranks, they have strict rules that forbid any of them to be part of this governance. But, while they themselves have great pride in their nature, every other elven clan regards them as the lowest between themselves, as their "feral brethren".
Appearance
Like any of the other elven clans, this one possesses all the same basic features, like the pointy ears, naturally slim and athletic build or lack of facial hair and presence of little to no body hair.Wood elves though, in contrast, normally have tanned or dark skin, with occasional copperish hues or traces of green. Their hair is usually somewhere in between brown and black or, in rarer cases, even blond or coppor-colored hair, which is deeply ingrained in their culture. Every Elf that holds anything to their name keeps meticulous care of their hair. Making sure that it is healthy and grows long, as this is a sign of their well standing. Only criminals, exiles and oath breakers cut their hair, or are forced to, so that everyone can see their disgrace. And if anyone should cut the hair of an elf for any other reasons, this will be regarded as a crime that is highly punishable.
If an Elf dies it is typical for a lock of their hair to be kept by their loved ones, and is worn close to their body or sleeping place for remembrance.
Their eyes are typically green, brown, hazel or amber.
Lifespan
Wood elves, like any elves, reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans would, but the elven understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. And an elf typically claims adulthood and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be 750 years old.
Racial abilities
Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Elf Weapon Training. You have proficiency with the longsword, shortsword, shortbow, and longbow. Fleet of Foot. Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet.
Mask of the Wild. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
Trance. Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
