Doctor Ova Orbatrix is a infamous rogue wizard whose talents were enlisted by the XIIIth Order of the Holy Church. He claims to have a self-granted doctorate in golemancy and a mastery of mental manipulation magic.
XIIIth Order Campaign
In the events of the XIIIth Order, Orbatrix was found in The Chaos Scar where he was building an army of golemized monsters and people for an unknown purpose in service of the Legion of the Arcane Masters of Evil. He was confronted by the group and was defeated by a massive strike by Pay'tah, that obliterated the elven mage. His final message, scrawled on the wall of the cavern, read: "WE THIRTEEN LIGHTS WHO HAS FOUGHT GODHOODS FOES."Mental characteristics
Personal history
Ova Orbatrix was born to a high elf family who lived in the mage city of Brighthurst during the Age of Heroes. He demonstrated a natural talent for golemancy, the construction and manipulation of constructs. By the age of 20, he had constructed a full automaton servant utilizing only clay and scrap metal. He was accepted into the Brighthurst academy and registered with the Mages Guild, but his education would be impeded by his lack of ethical discipline and dangerously inflated ego. He often would utilize his schoolmates and live animals in his experiments, and on more than one occasion justified it by simply claiming that they - like the clay and scrap before - were merely raw materials.
His primary work at the academy was focused on discovering stronger arcane components to power his creations. This ultimately led him to an expedition into The Deep, where despite most of his team going missing or dying, he discovered a strange gem that matched legends from the Second Age of a Chaos Ruby - a gem that contained similar magical power to an astral diamond but charged with the ambient energy of the Chaos. Orbatrix became obsessed with his discovery and abandoned all academics pursuits in order to unlock the secrets of the gem.
His time in Brighthurst was brought to an end in 4A893, when he declared himself a doctor of golemancy after destroying the academy's workshop with a large orb-shaped golem that towered over powered by the Chaos Ruby he discovered. He carved a path of destruction across the city's southern district and rode the golem into the darkness of the night. Following this, he was placed on a number of most wanted lists by the Mages Guild who was quick to declare him a rogue wizard. However, any attempt to capture Orbatrix ended a few short years later when the kingdom of Aldamere fell in the Night of Ashes.
During the next 150 years, the Doctor went into hiding. Stories of his appearances range from an expedition into the Southern Wilds to a hunt across the Athasian Expanse to capture a mythical gem dragon. Not all stories were so fanciful as there were plenty of rumors of towns across that Borderlands that were captured to be used in nightmarish experiments at the hands of a mad wizard with an army of golems at his disposal.
In 5A182, the XIth Order of Paladins known as the Elder Chains finally captured the golemancer and brought him to Triswell to stand trial. Officially, it was declared that the wizard was executed for his crimes but in truth he was recruited into the secretive XIIIth Order to work as an arcane and artifice expert.
During his time there he would do little in terms of field work. He would often be put in charge of engineering new magical items or reverse engineering dangerous items found by the other teams. Eventually given command of all internal arcane investigations and experiments.
