The Shamanistic Path of Magic

Normally only practiced by those far from the prying eyes of the City-States or the Guild, the Shamanic Path is a radical departure from The Hermetic Path.   Instead of carefully channeling and borrowing power from the Flow, the Shamanic Path believe in simply diving into the Flow barehanded and yanking out a handful of raw magic to accomplish their goals. A forceful and powerful act that is dangerous to the Caster and some who follow the Hermetic Path fear may also be dangerous to the Flow itself.   The Shamanic Path is often viewed as the more ‘artistic’ of the two schools of thought. Instead of following a precise ‘recipe’ for a spell, the Shamanic Path prefers “a dash of this or a handful of that”. Sorcerers, Druids, and Warlocks all tend to venture through this path simply because it is either the quickest means to a powerful end or sometimes is viewed as the more natural approach to magic. After all, magic is a wild force. Why bind it to rules?
