Orcs
Oddly enough the stereotypical goblinkin is probably the orc. These brutes are so wildly unpopular with the more “civilized” races of the world that at least one pejorative name or slur for them exists in nearly every modern language. Large bodied with long, powerful arms, pointed ears, and prominent, pointed teeth, orcs certainly present a fearsome visage. Orcs typically have green, blue, or black skin, though other variants occur. Their eyes are most commonly red, green, or black, and their hair is generally black, fading to gray and then white with age. They are short lived, aging to maturity in a decade and rarely living past forty. While some historians will cite them as the original goblinfolk, others will point to this body design, fast maturation, and quick decline as being engineered by the dragon curse, Cerelea, for them to be her personal soldiers and slaves. Depictions of orcs as barbaric, brutal, and even cannibalistic are not unwarranted, but it is difficult to discern if this is their preferred nature of one the blue dragon has cultivated in them. Their language is fittingly named Brute Orcish not just for their demeanors, but for its sharp, guttural sounds and tendency to make the speaker sound less intelligent and more antagonistic no matter what it is they are actually trying to say.
