Hell's Gate

If one were to walk through this mountainous pass, they would see long and seemingly never ending halls of dark, black rock. Every step they took would echo through the miles of empty paths. They would see no sign of any living thing. They would be completely alone.

Geography

It's a large region with small and narrow paths surrounded by dark, black rock. These walls can stretch up several feet in the air, sometimes blocking the sun from view.

If one were to walk along these empty paths, the sights would be lacking. There are very few colors in the black rock and no creatures live in this area.

Climate

When walking through these paths it can get quite hot because the sun will heat up the black rock surrounding the path, causing anyone walking through to start to feel an uncomfortable amount of heat. The walls also retain the heat fairly well, so once night comes it doesn't even start to cool down inside the walls until about three in the morning.

However, no one knows what it's like in the region outside the walled paths. A few people have attempted to climb the rock walls but none have succeeded.

Fauna & Flora

The Creatures
Although it may seem to any human that there are no creatures living here, to a Draconic life is everywhere. Earthworm-like Vulkanwyrms that eat away at the dark, volcanic rock creating the long and twisting pathways. One sits on top of the rocks gaining energy from the sun, eating anything that dares get close to it. And small little creatures make their homes in the small nooks and crannies in the rocks.

Natural Resources

The most famous natural resource from Hell's Gate is the Draconic Eye.

History

This is the place where the first recorded battle of humanity ever happened. It was a bloody battle where too many men died and no one was victorious.

After this battle, people had tried to settle the land. The large rock walls seemed like great protection from the Draconics but it got much too hot and eventually people lost interest and left.

Tourism

Although this place seems like a nice getaway, despite the emptiness and the horrid heat, I am here to tell you that this place is called Hell's Gate for a reason. The paths are so narrow and the rock walls so close that one does not have to move very far to feel a burning hot rock on their skin. The heat is insufferable. Take one step into the walled pathways and you will be instantly soaked in sweat.

Although there are no creatures who live in this area, it is not the animals that one must be afraid of but the constant and nearly never ending paths. Each path seems to go straight, but in reality will take you in circles. The paths with the large black walls lead to optical illusions, mirages. One may think they have found a nice lake, only to run straight off a cliff.

In other words, there are very few people that would willingly come here and those who do are desperate. Most of the time, the people coming here are looking for one thing: the Draconic Eye.
