Þahót
Þanót is a town in western Kanot, one of the three countries of the Útels, located on the west bank of Þán River in western Ela'k Forest. It's one of only two major settlements in this part of the forest, the other being the city of Lydnar upriver to the southeast, and like the latter is primarily inhabited by Veans, the main Útel tribe in the region, along with a few families of Kalotics from the across the river.
Since the Þán and its offshoot Háv'þal River have steep, rocky banks, the wooden bridge by the town is one of the few places one can cross over to the rest of Útel civilization, the other bridges being located at Lydnar, and the town of Júkal to the north.
Like elsewhere in the region, the town's cuisine is characterized by the use of the caterpillars of Velí Butterflies, which are gathered in the nearby woods each year and used in a variety of dishes. The locals are particularly fond of frying dried caterpillars with acorn meal and honey, in similar fashion as done with bee larvae elsewhere in Ela'k Forest.
