Þvek Bushes

Mlúkrok: Þvek /θvɛːkh/

Þvek bushes1 are native to eastern and particularly southeastern Vorran Peninsula in western Dragonía, but since the reptilian Kroks migrated to the region around 4.500 b.Dr, they've now spread to all but the westernmost parts of the region as one of their main crops.
Much like Púlraal Trees, a number of different varieties of þvek bushes are cultivated by the Kroks, some of which produce berries with flavour that suits specific dishes, or used for libations to the spirits. Most villages usually grows more than one cultivar for variety.
Þvek berries2 form large clusters when ripe, which can be so large on domesticated varieties that the branches can snap from the weight. The fruits are usually placed on woven mats atop simple platforms to dry in the sun, after which they are variously eaten plain, added into stews, mixed with nuts and seeds and pressed into cakes, or used to make tea.
In Vraahe and to lesser extent Naþvotere to the southeast, the dried berries are pickled and added into any kind of food eaten in the former territory, while in Varr on the mid-eastern part of the peninsula, both dried as well as smoked þvek berries are added into the various dishes made from Emnaa basses, particularly those prepared for elders.
