Qaþúlanz Falls

Qaþúlanz Falls1 are located at the northwestern edge of Ela'k Forest, where the river Óf (known to the Mörkels as Óv) drains into Klalaþan Sea via Bay of Þúl, ending its journey across much of the Dragonían continent.

Cultural significance

Qaþúlanz Falls are one of the most notable landmarks of Ela'k Forest and Dragonía in general. The ancient Alalaríans living nearby offered honey, pigs and the hearts of wild game to the spirits believed to reside at the falls, both to ensure victory in battle and bountiful harvest.
Their descendants, the Útels, consider the falls their most sacred place and a gateway between the world of the living and the dead. Throwing the urns of ones ancestors down the falls is widely believed to ensure that the dead enter a pleasant afterlife under the sea, and while there are other (albeit smaller) rivers that drain into the sea in similar manner in Ela'k Forest, Qaþúlanz Falls are generally considered the true gateway to the afterlife.
Útels from all corners of Ela'k Forest make pilgrimage to the falls in order to fulfill this sacred duty, a two months journey back and forth for those living farthest away.

Beautiful work and I LOVE the idea of waterfalls as a sacred site. As someone who loves water there is something special about their beauty and hidden power ... also I always feel they are a curtain to another place or a secret.. but that's just me
